Twas the Night Before Webmas

Description

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
A creature was stirring, much bigger than a mouse.
It crept about, hanging its sticky webs with care,
In the hopes that its unsuspecting prey would soon be there.

Jenny and Mary were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sparkly gifts danced in their heads.
Jenny wore antlers and Mary wore her Santa cap,
As they settled in for their festive Christmas nap.

When down in the living room there arose such a clatter,
They jumped out of bed to see what was the matter.
Down the stairs the two flew like a flash,
When they tripped and fell into a sticky white sash.

They fought against the sticky silk, white as snow
And tried to escape from the trap set below.
When to the delighted spider’s eyes did appear,
But a girl dressed as sexy Santa, the other a reindeer.

The spider wasted no time it entangled them quick,
Then it started wrapping the sexy girl St Nick.
Strong wrapping of silk from its abdomen came
To wrap her up tight, ‘til she couldn’t even speak her name.

Then the spider started to web up the sexy vixen.
He knew he’d catch something, but he never guessed it’d be Blitzen.
He wrapped her up tidy and stuck her to the wall.
She tried to escape, but she was going nowhere at all.

The girls were captured just like a little fly,
Mary tied to look for help out the window, but she only saw sky.
This was one Christmas the girls would rather have caught the flu,
But Mary was the spider’s prey, Jenny was too.

The spider trapped them inside, even blocking the way to the roof,
As it surveyed the reindeer dressed girl, wrapped from her nose to her hoof.
Then it wrapped the two again, as it spun them around,
In a candy cane cocoon they would be bound.

The spider attached a silk line to Mary and Jenny’s foot.
It could drag them up the chimney, but then it would be covered in soot.
So it picked up the girls and tossed them over its back.
It wasn’t perturbed by its cocooned and wiggling sack.

The spider scuttled away carrying Jenny and Mary.
It had captured its prey and it hoped they were as sweet as a cherry.
They were wrapped like a present, only missing a bow,
As the spider carried them out into the snow.

The two tried to bite through the web gag with their teeth,
But it was like trying to bit e through a Christmas wreath.
Then a small ornament spider bit into the girls’ belly,
The venom soon paralyzing them, their insides feel like jelly.

Why was there a giant spider, rather than an elf?
Mary whimpered and cried to herself.
She could do nothing as she hung her head.
She was the spider’s prisoner; this fact filled her with dread.

The spider was fished with its sticky capturing work.
Though the girls were not happy; the spider was being a jerk.
They could only wait and groan through their nose,
As up the spider’s web they rose.

They couldn’t call for help, or even whistle,
As they lay in the spider’s larder, disguised by a tall thistle.
The spider secured them in its web, and disappeared out of sight.
Merry Webmas to all, and watch out for spiders this night.

This was really hard to rewrite the entire poem and keep the ending words the same as in the original. Candy cane wrapping makes it nice and festive. Ho-Ho-Ho! Merry Webmas. Hope you all enjoy it.

Excellent picture and writing! No doubt if spiders were to take over they’d do it around holidays when they’d catch us off guard- or maybe at Thanksgiving when we’re all fattened up for them 🕸😎
